Photography is my passion..... something about that split second moment of beauty-- captured in frame forever --enthralls me.... the ability to see so much more than the average eye can see.....

There is a whole world of beauty in this life that many people don't stop to notice. Photography is my way of slowing down and taking the time to discover those flickers of beauty in this mundane-- and often ugly-- world we live in.

about me

I have been exploring my love for photography for the past 8 years. It began in 2000, when a close friend gave me a dusty old Pentax K1000 he found lying around his garage. At the time I was a student at Flagler College studying Communications with an emphasis on video production. Through a few college classes, a lot of experimentation, and a relentless fascination with independent film, my interest in video broadcasting and mass media waned only to be replaced with film grain and darkroom chemicals. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with top honors awarded for my work in video production in the spring of 2002 and decided to stay in St. Augustine and explore this newfound love affair. For the next few years I lived as a film purist..... a starving artist..... traveling when I could, processing and printing my photographs in my home darkroom, and displaying prints in local St. Augustine businesses.

During the spring of 2002, the 'starving' part grew a little tired and I took a job as a photographer in a Jacksonville studio. I grew to realize it was finally time to cave a little and invest some time and energy into the technology I had once shunned as 'cheating' and purchased a digital SLR. For three years I worked closely with a wide variety of clients, both in the studio as a portrait artist and as a special event/wedding photographer in northeast Florida.

My background in video production combined with my love for all that is photographic has driven me to stretch the boundaries of photography, to blend time and movement with the instantaneous snap of a shutter. I am fascinated by the play between light and shadow. I am inspired by the whirlwind of people around me.

Today, I find myself in New York.

It is a new beginning; time to start over.
